WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO

COMBO is many things, but at our core we are volunteers. People who want to help grow a sustainable trail system and mountain bike community in Central Ohio. That takes a lot of dedication and passion, and not just when it comes to riding. We need volunteers to fill all kinds with roles. Everything from marketing and fundraising to working with state legislators to gain more trail access. That takes a whole crew of a wide variety of talents, and if you want to put your skill set to the COMBO mission, drop us a line, and we’ll get you in where you fit in.

There’s room for everyone at COMBO.

We hold monthly meetings to discuss progress on projects, new ideas, and things that make us better. They are open to the public and usually at a friendly partner venue or trail head. Come join us, see what goes on behind the scenes!

  • Ryan Hughes

    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Ryan joins us as our first ever Executive Director and we couldn’t be more excited. He brings a wealth of planning & operational experience as well as a passion for life on 2 wheels. His most recent role was serving as the COO of roll: Bicycle Co and is thrilled to apply that experience to our mission here at COMBO. His bike life started out with a triathlon, a number of years as a road rider and then getting his first mtb as a fathers day gift which he refers to as his “gateway drug”. Once he got his tires in the dirt, he never looked back! He has ridden his mtb from Bolivia to Morocco, all over the US and is proud to call Columbus home. He’d struggle to pick a favorite trail here locally. High up on the list would be Great Seal, Horns Hill or a trail he helped organize & dig, Worthington Woods. He’s also a coach & photographer for the Gators MTB Race team where his two daughters race. Ryan relies on the restorative power of a ride in the woods and is actively looking for ways to expand that access & enjoyment for all riders here in central Ohio.

  • Marissa Mansfield

    MARKETING DIRECTOR

    Marissa also joins us as our first ever Marketing Director. Ryan & Marissa together are a force to be reckoned with. We are stoked to have Marissa officially on the team after working with her for 5 years with her previous position working with Trek Bikes. Marissa is more of a roadie when it comes to her skills, but a mtb “bro” when it comes to her personality and passions. She has bought and renovated a school bus to travel in, so she’s helping us remotely - and getting to explore new trails (yes we’re jealous). Marissa brings a fresh novice + woman rider perspective to everything she does at COMBO and is helping us to call out to other riders like her.
